Impressive five track EP from Arizonian group, the Goodbye Kiss, who despite their American roots also recall many of the alternative Manchester bands of the last 20 years
Review
If it wasn’t for the accent of vocalist Petie Ronstadt, you’d be forgiven for thinking this five tracker had come from the production line marked alternative Manchester bands of the last 20 years. But hailing from Tucson, Arizona, rather than Whalley Range or Ardwick, it’s hard to hide the American roots of this up and coming four-piece.
Stand out track is the slow-building ‘Bestowal Upon The Acquisitive’ which certainly has a Doves feel to it. And the warm melody of ‘A Far Cry From The Past Of Hope’ also sounds familiar and certainly benefits from occasional fifth member Mike Ronstadt’s cello.
The other tracks are above average fair too, so a thumbs up to this EP. It’s one worthy of further investigation.
