Thrashy riot girl-inspired indiepop on debut UK single from Gothenburg-based five piece Love is All
Review
'Busy Doing Nothing' is the debut UK single by Gothenburg-based five piece Love is All, who are one of the more exciting new bands that I have heard in a good while.
'Busy Doing Nothing' is thrashy in a riot girl way, and has the added charm of a post punk groove. Singer Josephine Olausson's vocal is very girlie in a Clare Grogan/ Bjork kind of way. Johan Lindwall's bass merges smooothly with Nicholas Sparding's guitar, while Markus Gorsch's deep dark drum patterns wander in and out.
'Motor Boat' is a cover of a Kim Fowley track and is very wacky. Kim apparently loves this version too. It is a pogoing riot for the kids of today, with a beatniik beat that suits 60's beach parties or any parties in the current hot heat.
'Felt Tip (Demo)'has a hushed vocal, and is moody, with a jointly sang vocal between Josephine and Nicholas which gives it a Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood feel or more recently a Tompaulin rhythm.
