Harrisons - Blue Note

Label: Melodic
Format: CDS
Melodic Brit pop-influenced single from Sheffield group the Harrisons, who are friends of the Arctic Monkeys

Review

This is the melodic second single from Sheffield's the Harrisons, who are mates of the Arctic Monkeys and it will appeal to that fan base too. 'Blue Note' starts off sounding very much like Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' but then when singer Adam Taylor's vocal joins in it becomes the sort of thrashy Brit pop that was released at the time when Brit pop celebrated itself. It is very catchy. The B side 'Shirley's Temple' is a tight little number that instantly recalls the Undertones with its cool guitar based beat. As the song moves firmly along, it has an air of the Alarm to it. Think '68 Guns' ! Good stuff indeed.

Track Listing:-

1 Blue Note
2 Shirley's Temple
