Review

The Mutts are a four piece band from Brighton who have a very lively new wave/punk sound which is very heavily influenced by the New York scene of 1976 /77. 'Blasted', the first song off their new self-titled six track CD, could have come off the Damned's first LP, 'Damned Damned Damned.'It has a great raw bass sound and loads of guitar bending. The singing style of vocalist Chris Murtagh sounds very much like Mick Jagger, while the influences of the group as whole lie much more with bands like the New York Dolls Dolls, the Dead Boys and Richard Hell and the Voidoids. This six tracker sounds very samey but if you love 70's rock with a bit of punk stamped all over it you should love it!!

Track Listing:-

1 Blasted
2 Shark
3 Melted
4 Gamma Life
5 Neon Lights
