Snare attack a la Americana may not be your taste but anyone who sat through 'Trout Mask Replica' could just as well listen to 'Cryptooology' from Yowie. Like a Magical Mystery Tour Band on an avant garde surf parole, Yowie pulls strings out of pure joy! With sufficient evidence of enduring listening sessions crammed with atonal guitar compositions, 'Cryptooology' may strike a chord with you. This seven track EP, clocking in at exactly thirty minutes - whoo, such scary preciseness-is textbook Beefheart. And a most enjoyable intermezzo for searching through your Magic Band collection this 'Cryptooology' proves to be.
