Sights - Be Like Normal

Label: Sweet Nothing
Format: 7"
Sbappy dose of "fizzy garage Pop' from the very fashionable the Sights, which "sees the Small Faces getting the beers in for the MC5"

Review

Now stripped down to a trio format, the oh-so-hip The Sights (hell, they hail from the Motor City that is Detroit after all) pump out another slab of fizzy garage pop that sees the Small Faces getting the beers in for the MC5. It's light 'n' breezy and bobs along like all the best Brit beat combos of the late sixties but all underpinned by some brash atitude, hammered out keyboards and gee-tar licks. And its all done and dusted within the classic pop single limit of three minutes. It's certainly a little trapped in the past and the Sights wear their influences proudly on their sleeve like some eager boy scout with the most merit badges, but they've absorbed them all well.

Sights (2005)
Superb third album from "Detroit’s very own Small Faces" the Sights, who while doing nothing that would have sounded new even in 1971, give retro a class of its own
