Refreshingly "cool" debut EP from indiepop pioneer, Amelia Fletcher's new project, Tender Trap
Review
'Oh Katrina' is our first introduction to Amelia Fletcher's new project Tender Trap, which uses musicians who were members of her last band, Marine Research.
'Oh Katrina' is jangly, spunky, fast power pop all done with grace from someone who almost invented indie pop while everyone else was just dreaming about it.
The first B side, 'Badge of Love, 'the only track here not to appear on thir debut album 'Film Molecules' reminds me of the Seeds of Love, and combines a garage band sound of the 80's with that of the 60's.
The final song 'Dyspraxic' is very harsh, almost hardcore, and very direct and to the point.
On the whole, a very refreshing record from a bunch of musicians who we thought had done everything possible of them.
Cool stuff and a cool label too !
