Review

Further fruits from the Stereorrific extended family production line arrives in the form of the second album by The Oscillators ‘InCog*Neat*O!’ Comprised of three groovy chicks and two groovy guys – we’re talking serious sixties retro-kitsch here, the band include Joel Mellin (brother of Jeff, who designed the album’s sleeve) who co-produced the album with (this is starting to look suspicious) that man Pete Weiss again. Clocking in at just less than thirty minutes the album’s thirteen tracks are short, sharp and candy-coated. Their Rezillos/Shadows hybrid inspired sound is fun and frolicsome and they’ve obviously nurtured their talents in the garage, albeit one lined with fully, fluorescent wallpaper and space for the Beach Buggy! Extra kudos too for the inclusion of a spirited Billy Childish cover – ‘Out Of Control’. The Oscillators' Incog*Neat*O! is Pop*Tastic*O!
