Hello and welcome to the July edition of the Pennyblackmusic Magazine. With the continued lack of any live gigs, some of our writers and photographers have been reflecting on the band that they would most like to have seen from the past. We also have a new series 'Bandcamp Explorer', in which our long-term writer Mark Rowland will be focusing on the best of what Bandcamp has to offer, and begins by examining in detail Nottingham-based label Gringo Records, a label that has been using Bandcamp to great effect. In our interviews, we are running our usual selection of interviews with well-known names such as Sex Pistol Glen Matlock, the critically-acclaimed and ex-Public Image Ltd bassist Jah Wobble, rock and roll legends the Godfathers who have just celebrated their 35th anniversary, Radiohead member and ecologist Ed O' Brien and pop icon Sophie Ellis-Bextor as well as cult and new names such as punk poet Jonny Fluffypunk, folk-influenced singer-songwriter Matt Hill, Slice of Life member and solo artist Carol Hodge and Vinny Peculiar on his fifteenth solo album. As always this magazine has come together through the hard work of a lot of people. Thank you to Kimberly Bright, Adam Coxon, Nicky Crewe, Nick Dent-Robinson, Anthony Dhanendran, Dixie Ernill, Dave Goodwin, Zena Greig, Tommy Gunnarsson, Keith How, Ben Howarth, Adrian Janes, Steve Kinrade, Richard Lewis, Adrian P, Mark Rowland, Maarten Schiethart, Helen Tipping, Lisa Torem, Andrew Twambley, Cila Warncke, Denzil Watson and Amanda J. We will be back with an album reviews update in early August and then a full edition towards the end of that month. Please check out our regular Facebook and Twitter updates.
