Summery second single off his forthcoming and eagerly awaited solo album from Climbing Trees’ Matthew Frederick
Review
Singer-songwriter Matthew Frederick from Wales’s Climbing Trees has given the world another teaser from his upcoming solo album 'Fragments', a second single, 'Hay-on-Wye'.
It’s a delicate, folky, warm late summer breeze, evocative of lazy days on the river that borders England and Wales, sitting in the sunshine with an acoustic guitar. There’s even a reference to his band hidden in the lyrics. Of course, now that the weather is colder and grayer, the song might bring listeners in the Northern Hemisphere a slight pang of longing for summer. We do, however, have Matthew’s album to look forward to in early 2020.
