Article
Thumpers are an alt. pop duo centred around childhood friends, Marcus Pepperell (vocals, guitar) and John Hamson Jr (drums, vocals). They formed the group in 2011 after their previous group Pull Tiger Tail broke up. Multi-instrumentalist and session musician Hamson has also played drums with Noah and the Whale and bass and percussion with Friendly Fires.
The group, whose music has has a frantic and exuberant sound, released their debut album, 'Galore', in May on their own True Say Recorings label , and spent much of that month touring it.
Live, Thumpers play with a revolving cast of friends and players. These photographs of Thumpers were taken on May 29th at a gig at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow.
