Excellent latest single from uncompromising Manchester-based ska-influenced act, Janice Graham Band
Review
You have to have something pretty special these days to come out of Manchester and to still attract a fervent following. There are so many brilliant bands from that particular neck of the woods that many of them end up getting lost along the way.
'Assassiner' is a great single that simply skanks along. The average age of Janice Graham Band is 21, so what chance do other new Manchester bands have in comparison? They will have to work nightshift to get close to the funky, but strong output of this band.
'Assassiner' is part of a new album to be released soon, which tells the story of a central character who is trying to keep his head above water and make something of himself whilst paying the price for an ‘ideal’ England, which of course we all know is a load of bollocks.
Janice Graham Band have had massive acclaim by all acconts including 6Music who usually get their hands on talent as its just about to explode. Their first single ‘Murder’ got the highest marks ever on Steve Lamacq's 'Roundtable'
This band a brutal sound, but wear a velvet glove under a diamond knuckle duster. They have a big sound, are big fun and have a big future.
