Unsatisfactory and expensive re-release of Morrisey's second single, which has been released ahead of a remastered version of his solo debut album, 'Viva Hate'
Review
Ahead of a remastered version of Morrisey's compilation album 'Bona Drag', we get a remaster of his second solo single, 'Everyday is Like Sunday'. If ever there was a Morrisey song about alienation, then this is it.
It appears on CD with 'November the Second', a song recorded in 1989 and which I thought I didn't know, as its other track. Then I played it and it was a remixed and dubby dance version of 'November Spawned a Monster. The CD comes with the original video for 'Everyday Like Sunday', which is very small on your PC screen and a live mimed performance of it from 'Top of the Pops'.
If you are like me and have to have everything when it comes to Morrissey, there are also two over the top priced seven inches at four or five pounds, one with 'Everyday is Like Sunday' recorded live at the the Hollywood Bowl, and on the other a live version of Morrissey covering the New York Dolls' 'Trash'. Sure, they are fine but £8 for two tracks? Is Morrissey still even on our side these days?
