Promising folk-pop on gorgeous-sounding debut album from True Bypass, the new project of Belgium musician and Sleepingdog front woman Chantal Acada and Scottish guitarist Craig Ward
Review
Scotland and Antwerp's answer to Nancy Elizabeth offers crispy jangly folk-pop of dreamlike proportions. Fragile beauty melting with Highland esoterism; what more could you ask for? The duo of Chantal Acda and Craig Ward, aka True Bypass, are all about campfire fun for all the folky travelling people. This eponymous nu-hippie album sets the pace for a calm session and there's never a dull moment. Chantal Acda, who also releases music under the moniker of Sleepingdog, has a stunning voice; pure and soulful and her use of the English is close to perfect.
Just a couple of acoustic guitars plus a harp and good songs built this album. Rather gorgeous. Moreover it holds a great promise.
