Liberty Ship - I Guess You Didn't See Her

Label: Matinee Recordings
Format: 7"
Fashionable "lovely, but rather twee" trip down memory lane from new British duo

Review

This is a lovely, but rather twee piece of 7" black vinyl. It sounds like the sort of thing to be played in the summer time (Look out the window though ! It's raining ! Oh well !). It will bring the summer into your heart. 'I Guess You Didn't See Her' reminds me of very early Primal Scream around the time of 'All Fall Down' and those beautiful first three Peel sessions. The vocals are sweet, and a Rickenbacker guitar jangles in a non scary way. The B side is a cover of Gene Clark's Byrds track 'She Don't Care about Time' which again jangles its summer pop into you. This all reminds me of 1986 before I had hassles like relationships, bills and keeping a job down. A good old fashionable trip down memory lane.
