Headlining this year’s Boomtown event, the eleventh instalment of the 66,000 capacity music festival taking place from 7th to 11th August at the Matterley Estate near Winchester, are Ms Lauryn Hill, Prophets of Rage and the Streets. Also appearing are Chronixx, Chase & Status, Groove Armada Slaves, UB40, Salt-N-Pepa and Gogol Bordello with special guests Xavier Rudd, Kate Tempest and Bedouin Soundclash. The line-up of over five hundred artists features international superstars through to grassroots performers across twenty-seven main stages and eighty interactive street venues.
Showcasing a huge range of musical genres with “other-worldly” set design and an immersive storyline which evolves each year, Boomtown provides a festival experience unlike any other. The line-up for 2019 provides an exciting mix of over eighty musical genres from reggae to punk, techno to folk, and much more.
This year Boomtown is vigorously promoting its ‘Green Mission’, with caring for the environment integral to the event planning and infrastructure. A cheaper Public Transport Saver festival entry ticket has been created for festival goers supporting this mission and arriving by public transport with the added bonus of free Wednesday entry.
Alongside its innovative approaches to campsite waste and recycling, the festival also offers an ethical choice in food with a wide range of delicious local and sustainably sourced Fair Trade products, including more vegetarian and vegan stalls, catering for all dietary palettes and requirements.
