Disappointingly clichéd new mini-album from Hague-based singer-songwriter, Martin Heyne
Review
Happily repeating calm and languishing acoustics similar to the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, the Hague's Martyn Heyne does a fine job in copying clichés and blueprints of compositions which went before his subconscious. Calm, dreary and most of all plain dull, 'Shady & Light' rejoices in cliché music. Folktronica. Loose ends. Noodlings leaving no traces. It is all quite tedious if you manage to get as far as the last track.
Clueless atmospherics go back to the era of hammering harmonics and very much build the tone. Arriving about twenty years late, one hears nothing new on this at all. Holland's Tesco deepfreeze.
