Despite being under half an hour, Madrid-based singer-songwriter Cristina Quesada's debut album, 'You Are the One', is something of a nightmare. Orchestrated like film or cartoon music, and focused on snappy little tunes, its formula wears out very soon. Christmas shopping malls glockenspiel and angelic blah-blah vocals only hamper further this hopeless ditty of an album. The title track is tedious enough to start one longing for a Mariah Carey lullaby. There is, however,a notable exception in 'Pineapple Princess'. Because of its lo-fi simplicity, 'Pineaple Princess' stands out in this rather torrid collection of throwaway songs and marks the better half of this weak LP.
