Darren Aston photographs Baltimore-based synthpop band Future Islands at a show at the Kazimier in Liverpool
Article
Future Islands are a synthpop band from Baltimore, and consists of frontman Samuel T. Herring, bassist/guitarist William Cashion and keyboardist/guitarist/ programmer Gerrit Welmers.
The group have now recorded critically acclaimed four albums, the latest of which ‘Singles’ came out in March of this year on 4AD.
The band have become renowned both for the “cathartic” nature of their music, and Herring's soulful vocals and deeply poetic tales of heartbreak, love, and loss.
These photographs of Herring were taken by Darren Aston at a typically euphoric show at the Kazimier in Liverpool on the 5th June.
