Unimaginative and bland fourth album from Icelandic-based post-rock outfit, Hjaltalín
Review
Espressobar Icelanders with very little imagination do a bit of jazz, perform as would be expected, but by time of the fourth track 'Crack in a Stone' and before their album is even halfway through they have run weary of ideas.
Their songs and tracks are bland and their textures, while holding the promise of being much better, cannot save much. Tacky to say the very least, a lazy lounge touch predominates this recording.
Yet, this album makes little sense. They have obviously had the luxury of affordable studio recording time, but a striking lack of ideas and a general lack of musicianship characterizes this music folly.
