Adding Machine are a four-piece Bristol-band who are fronted by Hazel Mills who has worked with Andy Mackay of Roxy Music, while the rest of her group have worked or are also working with Will Gregory of Goldfrapp, Bat for Lashes and Portishead. Adrian Utley of Portishead is in the producer's chair on this, and has also been helping them record their debut album. Hazel Mills' vocal range is very much like that of PJ Harvey on this stunning first single. This is backed up with strong early Depeche Mode-flavoured synths while scratchy guitar dance over the top of it all. Blend this all together, and you get a perfect mix of post punk updated for the new century.
