Enjoyable 1960's-influenced garage rock on double A-sided vinyl-only single from Bury St Edmunds-based act, the Baron Fours
Review
This second double A-sided single is huge nostalgia for rock'n roll fans who twist and shout as if we still live in 1964. The singer is a bit snotty, like Roky Erikson's little nephew but slightly out of tune, which fits this stylish effort.
The best bit is a mean trashy guitar on 'Yes I Do'. 'Girl' is a tad twee, and drags along rather slowly due to a deep surf twang.
This comes in a limited edition of 500 copies on heavy 7 inch vinyl, and is the first release in the new 'Sandgate Sound Acetate' series from Medway-based vinyl-only label, State Records.
Jukebox fodder for the ultimate fan.
