Entertaining 1960's garage punk pop on debut album from Wigan-based band, the Shook-Ups!
Review
The Shook-Ups! hail from the Kingdom of Great Fuzz and, gifted with the knack, provide an all-over rehash of the 1960s with 'Bad Reception'.They prove to be quite an entertaining bunch, and their debut album is a neat dozen powerful post-garage punk pop tunes that capture the revival of the young, loud and snotty.
The Shook-Ups! most certainly will win the Fleshtones' award. And if not, the Rezillos'. All the fuzz considered, 'Bad Reception' is a mighty fine debut retro sixties album. The kind of album that I would recommend to a pub owner coming into my record store.
