Group Rhoda combine deep and dirty, but beautiful electronic flows with hypnotic vocals. 'Out of Time, Out of Touch' is the debut album from Group Rhoda, which is in fact the solo project of San Francisco-based musician Mara Barenbaum. It is a very classy record with Kraftwerk and early electro influences peeping through the mix. Group Rhoda have, however, managed to bring these sounds up to date with this record, which, with odd touches of Japan or Ultravox as well, is refreshing, minimalistic and haunting. This is something different that will stimulate new memories as well as old Barenbaum is a clever and talented musician who is guaranteed a bright future.
