Cornshed Sisters - Telltale Signs

Label: Memphis Industries
Format: CD
Superb harmonic Americana from North East England-based sibling four-piece, the Cornshed Sisters, who miraculously bridge the gap between community signing and cabaret

Review

As a little bit of an exaggeration 'Tell Tales' links the Andrew Sisters to Kate and Anna McGarrigle. Both a church choir character and living room feeling are present. The album is all about tantalizing harmony singing. Limited by style, the Cornshed Sisters succeed tremendously well. Without Christmas bells and such, the all-women Americana of the Cornshed Sisters is most impressive because of its simplicity. Bridging the gap between community signing and cabaret, these sisters never fall short of a good idea for a tune. I can't be more concise. Listen.
