Predictable and indescriptive soft rock on latest album from Dutch singer-songwriter and former Tortilla front man, JP Den Tex
Review
I cannot remember, despite being Dutch, of hearing either of Tortilla the band, or JP Den Tex the solo artist before. And to be perfectly frank, I most likely have missed little of notice. JP Den Tex's music is an overdose of la la la predictability, firmly rooted in JJ Cale and Doobie Brothers hooks.
In his prime, JP Den Tex may have helped to outline the wacky limits of Dutch pop music, as it entered a dead-end street. This tediously indescriptive album serves no purpose whatsoever. The mistakes made in English grammar first of all should raise the question as to why oh why Dutch musicians write and sing lyrics in English when it becomes painfully obvious their command of the language is insufficient.
File under 'Holland Has No Talent'.
