Uninsirping folktronica on debut album from Isle of Wight-based musician, Puzzle Muteson
Review
Lovely and relaxed folktronica pop finds the edge right here; the melodies matter just as much as the music does. And to be quite honest with you, the chances are you'd will find yourself puzzled and muted.
'En Garde' suggest a stance. The term probably derives from fencing, yet the album is so feeble and bereft of any noticable highlight that is has become my favourite sleeping pill. The snare picking reminds of John Fahey, the orchestration resembles that of unplugged Pet Shop Boys whilst before I knew it the album was over.
