Dobra Robota - The Machines Will Make Sense of What We Find

Label: Dedear Records
Format: CD
Clumsy and indecipherable robotic pop on debut album from London-based electronic trio, Dobra Robota

Review

Chris, Sarah and Bob are the master mind trio behind the debut album from this robotic pop pastiche. They are seven years too late behind the Cuban Boys, Spray and what not though. 'The Machines Will Make Sense of What We Find' instead consists of a bunch of indecipherable tunes. Dobra Robota have a very long way to go before any of their sounds will make any sense. This debut album is largely drivel. There are flat vocals and worn out new rave pop lines. Boy and girl singers flip over lead vocals whilst a mish mash of Thompson Twins and Human League synth riffs go on repeatedly. Dobra Robota sound clumsy and are without any sign of charm. They are like cold pub grub with a stale beer. The first genuinely decent track is #7, the 'Uncanny Valley'. You'll get bonus points for having come this far. The closing track, 'Hypnic Jerk', is is also challenging but 2 out of 11 is not enough.
