fun. are an American indie pop group from New York who have drawn comparisons with acts such as the Electric Light Orchestra and Queen with their exuberant and flamboyant pop sound.
The group was formed in 2008 by ex-Format front man Nate Reuss(vocals) immediately after he moved for work purposes to New York from Arizona with Andrew Dost(vocals, piano, keyboard, trumpet, flugelhorn, glockenspiel) and Jack Antonoff(guitar). Reuss knew both Dost and Antonoff from beforehand. Dost had worked as a touring musician with the Format and Antonoff's other band Steel Ride and the Format had also played gigs together.
fun. is expanded for live purposes to also consist of Rob Kroehler (guitar), Emily Moore (guitar, keyboard), Nate Harold (bass guitar), Maggie Malyn (violin) and Jon Goldstein (drums).
fun. released their debut album, 'Aim and Ignite', in August of last year and recently played their first full headline tour of Britain. These photographs were taken on a gig on that tour on the 25th May by Anna Gudaniec at the Islington Academy in London.
