Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca

Label: Domino Records
Format: CD
Attention-grabbing latest album from falsetto-voiced New York-based experimenal art rockers, Dirty Projectors

Review

Halfway groovy doo wop and arty-fartsy new wave, Dirty Projectors found their little resting place on 'Orca Please, If You Will'. Electro-acoustic funkpop that relies heavily on chorus and melody sets the general tone but elegant shrieks add that little bit extra on the 'Bitte Orca' album. Just like Scritti Politti managed to squeeze out a fragile type of castrato falsetto vocals from their tight 1980's pants and over sparsely produced rocky backbeats, Dirty Projectors crawl towards these rather esoteric fields of postpop. 'Bitte Orca' deseves your attention.
