Many went before their time We mention some within this rhyme Ian Curtis, torn apart A beautiful career, at it’s start Truly missed , too sad the day His transmission taken away Jimi Hendrix, another lost For us all, what a cost Along the watchtower Always to remain Voodoo chile, slight refrain Phil Lynott, tall and thin Always greeted with a grin There’s whiskey in the jar So don’t get down The Boys will be back in Town Lennon shot, by a nowhere man Rests with Lucy in the Sky A day in the life, we wont forget Hear Yoko Ono cry Original and best The Rat Pack sadly gone And boy bands of today Just in comparison wrong Gone but still near Just a few we name There music keeps them here And still playing in the game
