Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses

Label: Domino Records
Format: CDS
Radio-friendly, but strictly-by-routine first single from their new third album from Franz Ferdinand

Review

Alas, the vinyl single of this is not available for reviewing. As the new Franz Ferdinand album is being promoted, there is a wealth of 'Ulysses' spin-offs around on the internet. A remix competition plus several B-sides for the various formats all constitute part of the 'Ulysses' promotional campaign. The original is radio friendly with another now-all-sing-a-long chorus and pseudo-intellectual touch. Nothing short of a refinement in just above average Britpop, Franz Ferdinand have gone la-la-la-la once again. James Joyce wrote much better footnotes and his name ought not to have any connection to this drivel.
