My Sad Captains - All Hat and No Plans/Great Expectations

Label: White Heat
Format: 7"
Sunny second vinyl only single from London-based indiepop group, My Sad Captains

Review

This new double A sided seven inch vinyl single comes out almost a year on since My Sad Captains' debut single, 'Bad Decisions'. 'All Hat and No Plans' is somewhat twee but, even when it rains outside, is all sunshine. The guitars are full on but restrained, while singer Ed's vocal recalls Edwyn Collins, and backing vocals add depth in an almost Prefab Sprout way. 'Great Expectations' is more moody, but is better thought out and a far superior song. An elegant guitar carries it along while a tambourine adds a Christmas feel to the tune. A joyful song which will add sunshine to the lives of anyone who hears it.

Track Listing:-

1 All Hat No Plans
2 Great Expectations
