Inoffensive, but ultimately forgettable pop punk on vinyl only EP from London-based band Candy Panic Attack
Review
In about March of last year, I got a demo by Candy Panic Attack while interviewing another band, and gave it a listen on the train home from London. It was a pretty rough demo, but the songs were quite enjoyable.
Between recording that demo and this EP, the band have apparently listened to a lot of Das Wanderlust and decided that, perhaps to bring balance to the universe, we need another, not very good, version of them (that may be a little unfair; they’re not exactly the same, but I’d say it’s more than just a little influence). Not that I have a major problem with people using the same style as other bands, they just have to be good songs along with it.
'Fruit is Nature’s Candy' is not an awful collection of songs, but there are a lot of other bands doing a much better job in the same style. Inoffensive, but ultimately pretty forgettable.
