Half Rabbits - Tiny Knives for Tiny Minds

Label: Pelvis Records
Format: CDS
Dark, but appealing indie rock from the Half Rabbits, who have toured with We Are Scientists, the Editors and the House of Love

Review

The Half Rabbits are Michael Weatherburn on vocals and guitar, Chris Rant on guitar, Alice Watanabe on bass and backing vocals and Sally Pelling on drums. They've been touring as support for a huge number of bands including We Are Scientists, the Editors and the House of Love - all bands that I've seen, but not with the Half Rabbits who seem to stay around the South of the country, which is a shame. With their driving guitars, they occupy the darker side of indie music that I have a tendency to be drawn towards. Although the guitar sound is very popular at the moment, they eschew the shouty vocals so beloved of a lot of bands. To be honest I don't think I can stand much more yelping. The opening lyric of 'Playing with Fireworks' ("Whatever I try winds up going wrong") has to be the best one I've heard for a while - definitely a song to listen to when you've had a crap day!

Track Listing:-

1 These Rumours
2 Someone's Coming
3 Playing With Fireworks
