Soho Dolls - Stripper

Label: Select Label
Format: CDS
Classy Glam-influenced electro rock from London-based act the Soho Dolls

Review

'Stripper' was the Soho Dolls last single on Loser Friendly, and has been re-released on Filthy Pretty. It now comes in four mixes, all that do justice to its big sound. The first mix is the original .'Stripper' is a tale of paying to see naked female flesh down in sunny or rather rainy nights in Soho town. It is all done with class in loud electro fashion with the added grit of Glam style guitars. The Lost Dog Found Remix is an acoustic reading of the song.Stripped down to its naked core and much slower, it works works perfectly in its own space, but as it moves on the band try to spice things up a tad and it becomes increasingly weird. The Punx Soundcheck Naked Remix is an extended club number and has a much bigger sound. It features pleasant twanging 50s style guitars, but then as it moves on it gets more into a glam groove which suits the track well. The LA Clip Remix again is a club number, but is much more mellow and in its own skin.
