No nonsense pure metal bliss on new album from London-based rockers Sludgefeast
Review
Sludgefeast consists of James Bernard on guitar and vocals, Coirin Duff on bass and James 11 on drums. They are a no nonsense rock band in every sense of the word in the same way that Motorhead are to metal and the same way that the Ramones were to punk. If you're looking for Michael Schenkler you best walk away now
They recall bands like Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers and The Dead Boys with their sloppy but addictively repetitive mid 70's riffs. At the same time they keep it fresh having a punk metal thrash edge.
The intro of 'Outrun Motherfucker' sounds like Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid.' 'Death Match' recalls Pink Floyd's 'Money' but at the same with its raucous guitars is very different. 'Unattainable Witch' meanwhile could have been a number of the Dead Boys' songs
There are seventeen tracks of pure metal bliss. The band does exactly what it says it does on the sleeve. "It's not over yet" and you also get a bonus DVD which consists of live footage of gigs around Britain as well as in Europe. There are also a few low budget videos and a still picture gallery
'Virtual Rock' is brilliant pure rock metal. The only criticism is that Sludgefeast say "Motherfucker" in every other song which does parody them some what. They are far better than that and they don't need to do it!
I think its fucking brilliant. If you like this type of stuff go get it!!
