Review

This is really good. 9 tracks that vary significantly yet have an overall feel of mystery and tension. The second half of the 11 minute '"Radial' is reminiscent of superior Blonde Redhead. Angular Sonic Youth guitar textures with an insistent vocal sung in Italian that is mysterious and engaging. "Post rockers" the world over are going to love this. The rhythms are intricate yet never over fussy. There is nice interplay between the simple bass, drums and guitar arrangements but whereas a lot of that stuff leaves me cold this is a warm and inviting release. Some tracks (ie 'Intermezzo' ) develop slowly and consist of nothing more than a simple vocal and an atmospheric guitar figure that draws you in until your hooked. The vast majority of this album is superb. Well worth buying.
