Review
Although moving in a similar shiny throw away pop orbit as Beck or the Pizzicato 5, there's something slightly more sinister to the sampledelia found on this new Real Tuesday Weld EP. 'I Love the Rain' revels in a home made cut and paste selection that echoes with thirties era 78's and toy shop music box samplers It draws you in more as an onlooker in the crowd rather than a guest at the party. The voyeurism grows on 'I'm still in love with Paula Wilcox'. You can't help but get the feeling from the vocal that this isn't the whole story on how deep the obsession runs. There is a slight rest from the dark with the final track. It produces the same sort of secure feeling that normally comes associated with reminiscing with a warm rosy tint of nostalgia about childhood TV programmes and 'It's a Wonderful Life' . But then again there's no telling what's hidden beyond those memories.
