Shonen Knife is a Japanese pop-punk trio, which influenced by 1960s girl groups, the Beach Boys, and early punk rock bands such as the Ramones, have recorded over twenty albums since forming in Osaka in 1981.
The group, which currently consists of Naoko Yamano (lead vocals, guitar), her sister Atsuko Yamano (bass) and Risa Kawano (drums), recently toured the UK as part of their 40th Anniversary Tour which had been postponed by two years as a result of the pandemic. These photographs were taken of Shonen Knife at a gig on the tour on the 27th April at The Hare and Hounds in Birmingham.
