Perfect noisy pop on new vinyl and download only single from the Fortuna POP's label's runaway success of the years, New York-based C-86 act, the Pains of Being Pure at Heart
Review
‘Come Saturday’ is the third single this year from Fortuna POP'!s runaway success of 2009 , and comes in a green sleeve while the last two singles which featured the same picture on the cover were in blue and red.
‘Come Saturday’ sounds at one level like a wild Dinosaur Jr, but at the same it also has a head-nodding very shy C-86 sound. It is perfect noisy pop for an autumn day or a hard day’s night.
‘Side Ponytail’, its B side, is C-86 heaven, with its jangly guitars, throbbing bass, and some very psychedelic keyboards that glow in the musical haze.
Both songs put a huge grin on my face.
