Enjoyable second single from Brighton-based twee-folk act, Foxes!
Review
The latest single from Foxes! promises a sticky and sweet debut album. ‘Who Killed Rob?’ is a cute and quirky song with lyrics shared between Kayla and Adam Bell.
The song hops along falling silent after around a minute and breaking into quiet vocals and guitars. Al Grace and Matt Twaites back up the lead singers on percussion and guitars with all of the band adding keyboard sections. All in all the single is a patchwork of influences and sounds resulting in a folky pop tune perfect for a sunny day.
B-sides ‘Bunny Rabbits’ and ‘Albania’ continue the gentle tones of the single. Indie guitars and electro pop give a soft edge to the music, and although Foxes! don’t jump out from the other twee-folk around they add their own flare to the genre and ensure that the album will be worth a look.
