Stunning new vinyl only single from discordant rock 'n' roll duo, the Raveonettes
Review
‘Blush’ is the first 7 inch from the Raveonettes in a while and follows on from four download EPs. It comes from ‘Lust, Lust, Lust’, their last album, and is a slow paced beatnik rocker. It conjures up with its beefy, feedback guitars images of black leather-jacketed guys outside US ice cream parlours with blonde chicks inside waiting for trouble to happen, and is absolutely perfect.
‘Black/White is a new song, and a fine taste of what I love this band for. It sizzles sex, glows like a broken heart, pouring out its slow tale in a bar in the mid West before Sune Rose Wagner loses it towards the end. Sung as a duet between him and Sharin Foo, it warms you up with its lonesome jangle, before the guitars eventually hit on with a full assault and end Sune’s nightmare.
Stunning !
