Early pioneering dubstep, culled together from the forthcoming re-issue of seminal electronic group the Black Dog's early 1990's album, 'Temple of Transparent Balls'
Review
This EP culled from the forthcoming re-issue of The Black Dog's 'Temple of Transparent Balls' album ,nowadays sounds like a bit of dubstep, thus adding to the status and importance of the Black Dog's pioneering excursions from the early 1990's. 'The Cost I' is a dubby waltz, lifting spirits and teasing the imagination at the same time. 'The Cost II' follows that rather exquisite euphoria with a mind expanding mixture of chill out dub garnished with dry effects.
On the B-Side the Black Dog changes to quirky techno tracks that tingle both body and soul. Dated 1990's sounds as they may be, they're not worn out. Crispy beats like you had not heard before - the original release - clash with edgy esotheric themes. A nice reminder of past great things.
