Egocentric and disappointing new single from rapper Mark Morrison, which finds him laying to waste his talent
Review
A legend in the 90's – as much for his huge ego and run-ins with the police as his music – Mark ‘The Mac’ Morrison is back. Only he can’t call this ‘Return of the Mac’ as that title went to his debut single, before he got sent to jail, for the insane ploy of sending someone dressed as him to do community service he had incurred on a previous offence.
This single really highlights that he hasn’t moved on at all since then – the tacked on rap from DMX not withstanding. While his voice is still great, his ego is still greater. So instead of setting his undoubted talent to producing great pop he’s using it to tell us what an "innocent man" he is and how everyone’s out to get him.
Maybe now this is out of his system we’ll get something from The Mac that does him justice. This, however, is a criminal waste.
