Bled - My Assassin

Label: Vagrant
Format: CDS
Solid, but strangely lost-sounding first single from American hardcore act the Bled's impressive new second album 'Found in the Flood'

Review

The first single off 'Found in the Flood', the second album from the Bled may not accomplish what it has set out for itself. Don't get me wrong ! It's a great song, full of soaring vocals, brutal riffage and generally all the hallmarks that make the Bled what they are. The band have accomplished in one song what lower par bands strive to achieve on an entire EP It's just that on it's own it feels like it's been stuck out on a limb, somewhat like the recent whale in the Thames, a lovely creature, but without its pod, it's somewhat... lost. Definitely worth a listen, but if you have the finances for it, then the album provides a much better experience

Bled - Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth, 24/11/2005
After being delayed at immigration for over 5 hours, the Bled arrive both late and tired for their first date of their tour at the Wedgewood Rooms In Porstmouth. Andy Vincent sees them pull off a highly powered and instense set against incredible odds
