Sugary new single from one-time British chart-toppers and indie rockers , Cornershop
Review
A chart failure par excellence, Cornershop must have blown it for reasons beyond their control.
Cornershop never was part of the Brit-Indian movement, but for ethnical purposes counted as such. 'Topknot '. the single introducing their upcoming album , is a very fine ditty, oddly incorporating a Hindi chorus sung by newcomer Bubbley Kaur in a lightweight and sugary melody.
The flip side, 'Notch'. is slightly rockier with a much sharper contrast of oriental vocals with steaming staccato strums.
Two tracks which will make you ponder where Cornershop will go on their new album.
