White Stripes - I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself

Label: XL
Format: CDS
Latest dose of back-to-basic rock 'n' roll from the ever popular the White Stripes

Review

The White Stripes must be one of the most dissected, examined and picked-over bands in recent times. The question remains is 'Is there anything left to add?' Certainly the duo of Jack and Meg White are at the forefront of a resurgence of a back-to-basics stance of rock 'n' roll and can't simply be dismissed and the commercial and critical success of Elephant' shows that they're more than just a passing phase but take all the fawning praise with a pinch of salt. And so the follow up single to 'Seven Nation Army' is a cover of the Burt Bacharach tune 'I Just Don't Know What to Do with Myself' and the pair add on some wailing from Jack and a few amplified guitars to the 60s classic. Then again you probably know all that from hearing it on the album. Perhaps not the finest example of what the band are capable of but certainly worth a few spins - before returning to Elephant'.

Track Listing:-

1 I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself
2 Who's To Say...
3 I'm Finding It Harder To Be A Gentleman (Live On John Peel Show)
