Based in Brussels, Belgium, The Dawnbreakers are something of a multinational garage supergroup whose members hail from England, USA and Belgium. Their CVs are fairly impressive too as they have all done stints in garage bands such as The Optic Nerve, Vibrasonic, The Bees and Vice Barons.
‘Remember’ is their self released debut single and isn’t really affected by a low budget production. I wasn’t convinced at first but I’ve played this to death and it’s really grown on me. ‘Remember’ seems to be the main side though it’s not clear. The guitars are so like The Byrds they even out-Byrds them, which is not a bad thing in my book. The flip ‘Sea In A Shell’ is completely different with a tasty organ sound and fuzz guitar low in the mix. I hope there is more to come from them, this shows potential and all they need is a good company to get behind them.
