Angels Die Hard - Sundowner

Label: Heaven Hotel
Format: CD
Enjoyable but chaotic and routeless album from Belgium-based psychedelic pranksters Angels Die Hard

Review

Angels Die Hard consists of Alex on synths, Alain on percussion and drums,. Rob on the same and Thomas on guitars. This album was recorded by Alain Rylant at Studio Borrey on the remote island of Andaman in the Nowhere Ocean in July, 2017. To great effect, Angels Die Hard have burnt their brain cells with this zany masquerade which only occasionally works towards their benefit. With ferocious hammering chords on the album's title track,'Sundowner' marks a lovely road to oblivion whilst messing about clueless of one's destination. Other than this, the album is quite tame. It is guideless and Angels Die Hard are nowhere near as original as bands from the Lowland, like Focus or Supersister, once were. Stuck in a rut, 'Sundowner' offers a fun ride, to be enjoyed just once or twice.

1 Tears of the Cobra
2 Stray Angel
3 No Apron for Emily
